Starland Real Estate, LLC offers everything needed for efficient property management.
Renters can expect fast and courteous service from Starland during their stay. Although it is highly encouraged to pay rent online at no additional fee, we also accept rent via mail and in-person.
Emergencies will be handled immediately. Non-emergency maintenance requests received before 9am will normally be taken care of the same day.

How Is My Security Deposit Handled?
Your security deposit (if applicable) is kept in a separate bank account and earns interest. This interest rate is determined by the City of Chicago. If you decide to move out, your security deposit and interest is refunded to you within 45 days (often times sooner) minus any money withheld for damages.
Please note: Normal wear and tear is not considered damage. However, broken fixtures, holes in the walls, removed or broken cabinets, stains in the carpeting for example might require a portion of your deposit to be used for repairs.
Who is Responsible for the Utilities?
Unless otherwise stated in your lease, renters are responsible for the gas and electric service in their residence. You must contact the utility companies below to establish service in your name prior to moving in.

When you move out, notify our office of the date you wish the utilities to be taken out of your name. This will allow for a smooth transition to the new renters. Please do not request that the utilities company shut off the utilities as this can result in additional fees, inconvenience and even possible damage to the apartment.
How Do I Pay My Rent?
You can pay your rent with a check payable to Starland Real Estate, LLC (unless your lease specifies a different name). Rent checks can be mailed to the office or dropped off with the receptionist Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Rent is due on the first of the month and is considered late after the fifth. Please pay promptly to avoid late charges.

Maintenance work orders are issued daily and your request will be addressed promptly.
Apartment Lock-Outs
If you lose your keys or lock yourself out of your apartment, please contact our office at 888-682-7827 during normal business hours. If you are locked out outside of normal business hours we have arrangements with a 24-hour locksmith who will come and assist you. We encourage you to have an extra set of keys to avoid these problems and charges.
